The Best News You’ll Ever See

God loves YOU. He does not love you because you deserve it, He loves you because God is Love. He does hate sin and it grieves His heart that the world today is so full of hate and deceit. God is just and so He must punish those who sin through their own selfishness and hate. Sin is anything we think, say, or do that breaks God’s law!

Jesus said the greatest two laws are to love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and all your soul, and all your mind, and the second is equal to the first: love others the way you love yourself. A simple lie, although it may not seem big, is you selfishly breaking God’s law, and showing you don’t truly love the person you lied to. This is true with stealing, gossip, adultery, and covetousness (jealousy). Each of these acts is in defiance of God’s will that we should love each other. We sin because we are selfish.

This lack of loving others and God above ourselves, will be punished. This punishment is carried out in a lake of fire where we will be judged according to our works. (Revelation 20) God does not will that anyone go to hell, but He won’t allow sin and hate into heaven. He will justly correct all the wrongs of this life. EVERYONE will give account of their every thought, word, and deed.

There is hope for us though because God’s Son, Jesus, said, For God SO loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Jesus was slapped, spit on, whipped to ribbons, crucified publicly and shed His blood to take the punishment for our sin. While on the cross He took our sins in His body. When He died God looked on Jesus’ sacrifice and it appeased His justice so that we would not have to be punished.

Three days later Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to His followers. They were so changed by His appearance that they gave their lives to spread the news of forgiveness. Most of Jesus’ followers were killed because of their “new religion” but the power of Jesus’ sacrifice couldn’t be stopped. The story of Jesus’ death for our sins and His physical resurrection is the gospel. (1 Corinthians 15)

I believed the gospel when I was in middle school and it has continued to change my life! God made it very simple to be saved from sin and punishment in hell. Anyone can be saved: no matter how sinful they are. God’s forgiveness through Jesus’ sacrifice is unlimited.

You can be saved from punishment and freed from sin’s power right now if you will believe on Jesus. Have faith that Jesus was punished for your sin, that He rose from the dead, and that He is the only way to heaven. (John 3:14-15) Jesus said, “whosoever believeth should not perish but have eternal life.” You can pray to confirm your belief in Jesus as your Savior.

Just pray to God, “I know that I am a sinner deserving punishment in hell. But, I believe that Jesus died for my sins, rose from the dead, and that He is the only way to receive your forgiveness and enter heaven. Right now I trust Jesus’ to save me. Thank you for forgiving me. I believe.”

Congratulations! You just joined the family of God. John 1:12-13 says “But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” If you just believed on Jesus, God has made you a part of His family. He has made you new on the inside. You now have the Spirit of God’s power to walk as a Christian: to be like Jesus. This is a work God does when we believe on Jesus’ name. Our own flesh (ability) is never enough to save or transform us. Further, you can never be removed from the family because it is God that makes you born again!
